I love you, my little monkey.

He wants to add some words of his own:

Beautifully said Liam. Beautiful.

It’s green!

We make our oldest child earn her keep.  It was her job to paint the guest room.

Ok, so we were really just letting her play with the paint while we were deciding which green for the walls.  Thanks to the wonderful husband our guest room is now green (solid green too!).  It was really hard to get the colors accurate in Photoshop.  For those of you with Sherwin Williams books it’s Mesclun Green.  The ceiling is Optimistic Yellow.

The quilt is finished as are the curtains.  I’ve started the fabric thingies that are going to dress up our budget friendly Ikea night tables.  I also need to do throw pillows and shams.

I ordered a matte white iron headboard this weekend which should be here in about 4 to 5 weeks.

So exciting!

I’m finally getting around to decorating our guest room. It’s not just the decorating that I was ignoring (ya know because I bought all the fabric last summer), it was the huge queen sized quilt that went along with it. All the blocks are done and I’ll start putting them together today. I hope to start quilting the behemoth Wednesday or Thursday. I should check if I have thread for that because it’s going to need a lot. The quilt is done in the same pattern as this quilt on Etsy in the fabrics of this quilt on Etsy.

This is what the room looks like right now. The ceilings are a whopping 10 feet tall. We have all the decorative crap needed for a pretty room, it’s just all sitting in boxes and bags. I must nag the husband to paint for me.

Hopefully it will be looking a little more presentable in about a month or so.

New quilt in the works using Moda’s Fresh Air by Chez Moi fabrics. The blocks are done so it’s time to assemble those, quilt, bind and then it’s all done!

So way back when I started a pineapple block quilt with reproduction 1930s fabrics. Well, it’s finally finished and up on Etsy. It’s a little hard to put this one up in the shop. I kinda got attached to it but it doesn’t go with the decor or colors in my house at all.

I’ve had the Zelda tune running through my head for weeks now. Now up on Etsy.

The Legend of Zelda may have introduced an entire generation to the joy of colorful worlds of monsters and heroes filled with melodies of bleeps and bloops, all contained in a little plastic box connected with wires to the TV.

Bosses and Triforces, dungeons and new swords, secret doors and endless maps; these inspired fear and joy beyond anything a 256×224 set of pixels wavering on an ancient CRT had any right to do. Return to that world by way of a 64-by-64 grid of pixels emblazoned in all their low-resolution glory across a 100% cotton quilt. Octorok and Leever threaten Link amidst the rocky Overworld’s bushes and water, as a Darknut patrols in his Underworld dungeon.

- Approximately 64″ square.
- Made from 100% cotton fabric and batting.
- Machine wash cold, tumble dry low.
- Pieced and quilted by machine in smoke-free, pet-free, and geek-friendly home.

Fun photo time outside.

So what’s next? Flowers… paisely… gingham… get the idea? I need to do a girly, flowery quilt or two and then I’ll do Mario.
