How to sew A Really Big Quilt – Part 4

Step 14. Quilt.

Almost done!

Step 15. Trim.

Step 16. Cut binding strips and take a blurry picture of them.

Step 17. Attach the binding to the quilt.

Step 18. Flip the binding over and sew to the back.

All done! I’ll do a full set of pictures once it’s washed.

Off to sew some shams.

    This is GORGEOUS! I just found your blog and I love the quilts you’ve made. You are very skilled at quilting. I just finished my first quilt and enjoyed the process very much. The one exception was hand stitching the binding to the backside of the quilt. I see that you machine stitched both sides. I would much rather do it that way! Could you show a picture of your binding up close to see how it turned out? Why do so many people hand stitch the binding to the back?
