Monkeys! — Part 1

Another custom quilt. This one is full of the lovable sock monkeys.

Step 1. Iron.

Step 2. Cut lots of diamonds.

Step 3. Assemble the puzzle. I could do this randomly but I’m too much of a perfectionist to be a quilter sometimes.

Step 4. Each diagonal row gets a number pinned to it and the diamonds are stacked up. If it were just me using this room I’d just leave the pieces on the floor until I sewed them. I’m sure the kids would love it if I left all this over the floor.

Sewing starts tomorrow!

You are amazing! I would get so confused. How long have you been quilting for? I am always amazed at your wonderful quilts!

Wow, so amazing. Is this a special order or will it be going up on Etsy?

If you did a quilt of Super Mario Brothers or Space Invadors…my Fiance might have to buy it!

Oh…and is there chic fabric with PUGS on it?

The numbers on the rows helps a lot. And if I get confused, I just turn to my handy seam ripper.

I’ve been making quilts for 2.5 years-ish. I sewed other things before that and seeing some handmade Amish quilts turned me into a quilter.

This one is a special order. I do have more monkey fabric so don’t be too surprised if another monkey quilt shows up in my shop.

I did do Mario a couple months ago and am doing Space Invaders in May.

Pugs as in dogs? I am the farthest thing from a dog lover (sorry! :-\) so I usually don’t even look at doggie fabric. Don’t hate me!

Of course I don’t hate you, silly goose!

Do you like your shark iron? I have a Rowenta. I thought I could get away with using my softened water….Not good, so I mixed it with my terribly hard tap water…Not good either. Now the iron leaks & cracks, spitting chemical deposits on my fabric…..Help….What kind of Iron do you recommend?

I had a Rowenta and it just stopped working. The Shark is ok. Not great but it steams and sprays which were the two things the Rowenta wouldn’t do anymore. For $30 it’s fantabulous.
