I tried Anina’s suggestion of monofilament thread in addition to a more spread out zig zag stitch (I think I have a blind hem but I have no idea which it is!). I did the ovals first and then the reverse appliqué. I think I got better (smoother lines) at it as I went on. Of course after I had finished the circle, I realized the center and melons aren’t quite centered in the circle. D’oh! I’m not sure how noticeable it is and I may redo it. I still need to do the corner diamonds. This will be B-7 when done.
