The Very Hungry Caterpillar Quilt… Etsy Version

After making one for Liam’s birthday I had to make one for the Etsy shop as well. It’s now done and listed.

There are a couple slight differences but basically the same. I love all these prints… just perfect for the little ones.

See: First, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, pattern.

Both of my models were in bed, so, uh, here is a picture of the quilt in their chair!

This is really cute! Can I ask how long it took you to get good at the free motion quilting? I’m hoping to start practicing it soon and I’m curious at how steep of a learning curve I’ve got to climb.

Hmmm… I know I made a small quilt sandwich to play with. I think later in the day I did a real quilt. I highly recommend a pair of Machingers!

A day late and a dollar short- that’s the story of my life! This quilt is beyond perfect! Would you consider making another one just like it!?

Hi Jayna! I was just working on one this evening. I’ll email you.

Hi Emily, — my name’s Ali and I live in the UK. I am having a baby (am currently 22 weeks pregnant) and want to have a Very Hungry Caterpillar inspired nursery. I would love to buy your patchwork quilt but I see that you have sold out. Can I commission you to do another one for me? I don’t know how much you normally charge, but I would be willing to pay over the odds so you’d do it for me (am no good at sewing myself!)

The baby is due March 19th – do you think it would be possible to do this for me by then? Will pay a good price! Let me know ASAP – thanks! Ali

Hi Emily my name is Brenda and I live in San Antonio, Tx. I have been searching for a site that would sell quilts in this specific pattern small enough for a a baby crib. I am expecting twin boys in August. I was wondering if you could possibly make one quilt we could use for the wall of our nursery instead of two baby quilts and maybe find other colors to incorporate. I am just curious how long it takes for you to make a quilt. It doesn’t have to be a large quilt I know that it would take you longer to make. I can tell you are swamped with requests especially for this pattern. Thanks for taking time to read my email. Have a great day!

Would you be willing to make another VHC quilt to send out to WI?

  8. emily says:

Sorry, no more caterpillars for the time being…

  9. What a beautiful quilt! I love the Hungry Caterpillar and am doing that theme for my daughters first birthday. I joined a sewing class and learned how to make a quilt. This is my first quilt. http://www.mcmillanfam.com/2010/01/quilt-update.html

I am from Ontario, Canada and would like to know where you get the eric carle kit material. I have the pattern.

  11. Laura G says:

    Hey Carol,
I also live in Ontario and I have bought several yards of this VHC fabric. I buy it from http://www.fatquartershop.com. They have good prices and are quick in delivering internationally. Hope this helps.

I am looking for a crib size quilt pattern using the Very Hungry Caterpillar fabrics but so far can find only large size quilt patterns. Do you know whereI can find a crib sized pattern?

    HI!

I am trying to find a baby nursery bedding set and I really like your first version of the quilt shown here on your site. Would you be able to email me a picture of what the full quilt looks like? Also, do you have something like a three piece set including pillows and a crib bumper? Thanks for your help, I look forward to hearing from you!
