I tried using a leader piece, but I like to chain piece so that wore thin really fast....I found the only good way was to carefully butt the pieces one after the other...another pain... I got to use one in a class this weekend. I found that piecing triangles with it to be frustrating. The quarter inch foot was on it and it just ate the fabric like no other.
