We started out with some yummy coffeecake muffins…

… to eat while we watched the parade and the kids danced …

(and yes, she’s wearing a dress again!  I tricked her and told her all her pants were packed for the special trip.  Mean mommy.)

… and saw Buzz.  Maeve got all excited when she saw Dora.  She has no clue who Dora is but has seen the face in the stores.  I fear Kindergarten and all the characters it will bring home …

Maeve did a great job setting the table.  Liam did a great job unsetting it.

Liam says, “Feed me now!”

Maeve says, “Yum!”

I made Farrotto with all the normal Thanksgiving flavors.

Sean insisted on cooking some dead thing to feed to himself and the kids.  Hrmm.

The apple cider appears to have not killed us.

And the night concluded with homemade cinnamon chocolate chip ice cream.  Yum.

So today’s project was making apple cider for Thanksgiving.  I did some searching online and came out of that scared to death that I was going to kill us all with some horrible pathogen if I didn’t clean everything perfectly in a vat of bleach.  Like pathogens were going to spontaniously appear the second I put an apple into the food processor.

Ahhh, nature’s sprinkles.

Then you squeeze it all out.

Maeve decided that we weren’t making apple cider — we were making apple poop (the leftover pulp, skin, etc in the cheesecloth).  Sigh.

A quick trip on the stove to kill any ickiness.

Liam would be totally peeved if he knew I used his beloved bottles for the apple cider.

If you don’t hear from me after Thanksgiving, someone call an ambulance ’cause we might all be sick.

I haven’t been very motivated lately.  I think my mind is already on vacation.

If you would like your order to ship before Thanksgiving, you need to buy (and pay) before 10am eastern on Wednesday, November 26.

All orders after 10am Wednesday through Sunday, December 7 will ship by Tuesday, December 9.  As long as USPS keeps up their end of the bargain, they will arrive in time for Christmas (2-3 days for US orders, 6-10 days for international).

I’d like to get a couple more things into the shop before we leave but I may be being a little overly optimistic as to what all I can get done.
