Snow!

I think it snowed more this morning than it did all last year. Ah, the wonders of the south. Maeve was super motivated to get ready quickly (shocking, eh?) so she could play outside before heading out.

Still trying to get the hang of posting from this. We’re at speech now.

First Steps

At 18-2/3 months he finally decided to walk.  He had been doing really well the past couple days with standing and I was able to trick him into taking a step here and there but it was never intentional on his part.

First we walked between tables (about 5 steps)…

(eek! cute baby tushie!)

And then we sweetened the pot… literally.  Cinnamon Goldfish.  It’s the bribery that has gotten him through every PT appointment.

And then he figured out how to run.  Must. Have. Goldfish. Now.

He walked across the entire room without falling about 15-20 minutes after he had taken his first step.

My little Frankenstein.

I’m not sure how every picture ended up with the same leg stepping.

So two weeks ago at PT we were thrilled that we could get him to stand for about 20 seconds.  Today he walked.  Little booger.  I knew you could do it.  Now you can learn to chase Maeve.  You are going to love that.

Also, this morning we went to pick up my new glasses.  Liam tried on a pair of his own.  As cute as he is, I hope he inherited Daddy’s eyes.

The Good and Bad of Fall

The Good:  Jumping and playing in leaves.

The bad: Spending an hour and a half with the leaf blower ever other day.

So pattern-o-rama is almost over.  I’ve got one more that should be up either the end of the week or this weekend.  Fun fun fun!

No. 006 — Looking at Me Quilt Pattern

featuring Brown Bear, Brown Bear fabrics

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? This timeless children’s classic by Eric Carle explores the forest one gentle animal at a time as little eyes move from the brown bear, to the red bird, to the yellow duck, and on through the goldfish and teacher. Now, twenty-five years later, a new collection from Andover Fabrics lets us bring the magic of this paper-collage forest to the living room as a quilt! This quilt pattern captures the myriad characters of the book, peeking out through the random blocks of a geometric forest, letting a young gaze once again roam from one animal to the next, hiding amidst the bright watercolor and fingerpaint textures of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Finished quilt measures 55″ x 40″.
