Unmixing Remix: The Psychedelic Deer Meet April Cornell — Part 2

Posted on by in Books

So as I mentioned before, all but one project in Quilt Remix is shown in two different collections. It was quite a challenge finding the perfect two collections for each quilt. The Ohio Star project is shown in Jay McCarroll and April Cornell fabrics — two collections that have probably never appeared together in the same sentence or project.

This project also mixes in a little of my photo and painting loves. Most people would paint a vase of flowers. I paint the inner stigma, stamen, etc. This is one partial Ohio Star block, macro style, as a large lap quilt.

This quilt was in my booth at Spring Market in Minneapolis and everyone loved it. Normally one would then post a picture of my booth from Spring Market but that would mean *finding* a picture from Spring Market. Not sure I can do that. My computer is a sad mess right now. So instead I give you a picture with a bright quilt against a foggy, grey Seattle skyline.

And the April Cornell version. Maeve loves this quilt.

I must admit, this is one of my favorite projects in the whole book. So versatile and so much texture. I just {heart} it.

The book is now available for purchase in the shop. It won’t start shipping until Monday, November 15, but if you’re itching to buy it you now can!

Coming up tomorrow: Storm at Sea Puget Sound*

*Ok, so technically that’s Elliot Bay. Close enough and I’m guessing more people have heard of Puget Sound than Elliott Bay?

What? This is crazy amazing! oh my word – I swore I wouldn’t buy any more books – nothing ever seems to get made out of them, but……. I find people who never compromise or make exceptions to be so rigid, don’t you?
