So Much for Keeping Secrets

Posted on by in Life

Sean took the kids out to dinner. (Background: Sean’s birthday is coming up.)

Conversation as follows:

Daddy: So what did you do today, Liam?

Liam: We got you present Daddy!  But it wrong–

Maeve: No!  Liam no!  It’s a secret, you can’t tell Daddy about his birthday present!

Liam: But it wrong–

Maeve: No!  Oh wait, the wrong one, right.  Um, yeah, okay Liam.  You can tell Daddy about the wrong one.

Liam: Daddy, we got you wrong present!  We have to return it.  It was.. it was Toy Story!  That’s wrong one.

Maeve: Yeah!  We got the wrong one.  It was Toy Story 1!  Isn’t that funny?

Took Sean about 4 milliseconds to figure out what the correct gift was supposed to be. And yes, I really ordered the wrong one.

Speaking of secrets, I have lots. And can’t tell you any. So the blog is turning into Emily’s life other than work while I sew the night away. Stay tuned… it will be worth the wait.

Too cute! When I was about 4 I came home from the store with my dad and said “Mommy we got your birthday present! I can’t tell you what it is but I will give you a hint: it starts with G and rhymes with riddle!”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. I love kids! My nieces are the SAME way. Whenever they start talking about my birthday or christmas presents I plug my ears!
