Return of the Reflex and a Fabric Fieldtrip

My partner in crime, er, Kathy and I headed off to unchartered (for me) territory. Mystical Vashon Island. (Ok, no idea if it’s really mystical but I had yet to make it over there so it was at least new to me.)

So of course, being on a ferry, I had to take a picture of the *other* ferry. (These aren’t the 4 I usually take obsessive amounts of pictures of but the 3 that run this route.)

We went to visit Island Quilter — noted in this fall’s Quilt Sampler Magazine as a top shop. They did not disappoint.

That’s just one tiny part of the store. It was huge.

While Kathy was getting her bolts cut, I was flipping through the magazine and saw this ad at the end of Island Quilter’s highlight:

How very perfect.

Ah. I grew up in Gig Harbor but have never been to Vashon Island. Now that I know there is a quilt store there I will have to make the trip next time we visit – my husband and girls are suckers for any trip that involves a ferry ride. 🙂
