We Love Color Blog Tour
Giveaway is closed!

Welcome!
I was slightly overwhelmed with work when We Love Color was presented. New book due, 14 new patterns, market, still not settled after a move, etc. That kinda thing — could I really take on one more project?
Looking back on it though, I’m so honored to have been included. It’s a great group of quilters and a pretty awesome result.
For the most part, my color choices are inspired by nature, everyday life and the world around us. Whether it be the bright sunsets…
or a rainy weekend drive…
or a beautiful flower amongst the weedy and mossy backyard…
or spring…
or just a morning walk in the park.
—
What is my favorite color?
Hardest. question. ever. I took a scientific approach to this. I compiled all the colors included in my next release (full of more fabulous Konas!) and added up the yardage. The most used, and therefore favorite, color is…
Aqua-1005. Not shocking if you know me. Exhibit A:
—
My quilt.
It’s the purple one and also appears on the back cover of the book. The pattern includes instructions for multiple sizes.
It’s a very ‘me’ quilt.
—
New Colors!
I’ve been sewing with the new colors over the past week and I’m loving them. One new one is Poppy-1296.
Pretty accurate I’d say.

Is the contest open to employees of Carolina Patchworks and their immediate family?
Back away from the fabric, Sean!
Don’t worry, Sean was not entered into the drawing. We have half the Kaufman warehouse in our basement so it’s not like he’s in need of fabric (because he sews and all… ha!)
Love the look of this book and your quilt is beautiful. New to your blog but enjoying it. Thank you
It would be interesting to make a quilt of the favourite colors from the participants of the We Love Color Blog Tour. But it would be amazing to win the whole bundle (or the book). Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Love your pictures, very inspirational. I really like the quilt that looks like a tunnel (dark in the middle). Would love to try and work with solid.
Of all the different solid fabric lines, I think Kona is my favorite, and now that I see it, I think Poppy could be right up there with Orange as a favorite color! Would love to see what I could do with the book and that luscious stack of color. Thanks for the chance.
What a great giveaway! Thanks for sharing some pictures of the new book as well– yet another to add to my wish list. 🙂
I love aqua!! It’s great to be able to get a peek inside such a wonderful book – thank you!
Holy Kamoly! What a giveaway! We live in Raleigh now and I love to read of your responses to the Pacific Northwest. We used to live there and I miss the place, in all its flavors. Thank you for offering this giveaway.
oh freaky, we moved here from Raleigh.
What a fantastic giveaway!
Love your inspiration pictures. Thanks for the chance to win this great new book.
Love the picture of the curled-up fern.

I don’t know you chose a favourite color – I couldn’t in a million years!!
I would love to win 🙂
We Love Color and I love color!! 🙂 Can’t wait to see how your quilt goes together. It’s one of those that is so different that I am unable to “see” the blocks and I wonder exactly how it’s put together. Purple is wonderful but I’d love to see lots of other color combinations, too. All these new Kona colors are so exciting and beautiful. Thanks for the giveaway.
Your quilt is fantastic, and I am so glad you could design it amidst all your other demands!
Love your quilt! I am already picturing what colors I could do mine in.
Your quilt is gorgeous and a great choice of colors. I’m a huge lover of all things purple so your quilt really catches my eye. Next after purple is aqua because it reminds me of summer for some reason.
Thank you for the chance.
I would love a copy of the book. Thanks for the chance to win.
Poppy is an awesome color! But it would be fun to make a quilt with all those colors in your rainy weekend drive photo.
It’s a common color palette here, eh? It’s amazing I don’t have more grey quilts. #seattlesnark #iloveitherenomatterhowgreyitisattimes
Your quilt is something else – so unusual and full of interest! Love the colors! Oh how I wouldn’t love that bundle!
Awesome combo for a giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win 🙂 I can’t wait to see the new Kona colors, I’m hoping they have (or will have) a color card supplement.
Have a new color card but would so love a chance to see these new colors in person:) You quilt is stunning, love the shapes!
I love your quilt! You always come up with great patterns. I can’t wait to see your next projects with all those Konas.

Beautiful quilt, Emily! My favorite solid is always changing. Right now it’s Pacific, a nice royal blue.
Love, love your quilt! Looks so difficult, can’t wait to see the book and learn your secrets. And that new palette — yummy!
I love your quilt. I saw a sunset almost like that last night.
Love checking out new patterns and colorways! Thanks for the giveaway!
That aqua color looks divine! So in love with this book, been following it all along blogland.
I love how you figured out your “favorite” color. . . math in action. (The teacher in me finds that really cool).
I love the Aqua too! So pretty! I’m holding out on winning a copy of this book, and I want it so bad I almost can’t wait for all the giveaways. Thanks for the chance to win!
I’d love to make a quilt using solids, especially the aqua you chose as your favorite. Thanks for the chance to win this book.
I’ve recently become rather enamored with aqua, though don’t ask me to pick my favorite color – it’s much too hard.
I like them all because solids are so much fun to work into a busy quilt but prefer the red/pink tones.
What fun! Solids are great to work with and your choice of purple in the book looks great without the ‘teen’ feel. Aqua is very popular now.
I love all of the new colors! Thanks for the giveaway!
I am enjoying the blog hop and seeing all the great solids used. Makes me really want to sew something solids only. I have never done that, but there is always a first time.
The book looks wonderful! Your pictures are terrific. I’m an aqua color lover too. Thanks for the chance.
Your quilt is beautiful, thanks for the chance to win
Your work is just fab. Thank you for a great giveaway. Loving the blog hop. My favourite colour is melon by the way.
Congrats on the new release! I love your quilt in the book. It’s gorgeous and so rich. My kids ask me all the time what my favorite color is. I can never decide. I did buy a huge pack of sharpies last week: 24 of them. I loved sorting through the colors and settling on my favorite. I imagine you have a similar experience when the new konas arrive. Heaven, I do believe! 🙂
Holy moly it’s jess! Blast from the past (ok, so it wasn’t *that* long ago…) Hi!
Your purple quilt is beautiful. I love purple and always have good intentions to use more of it in my quilts. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I love your purple quilt and what a great design! Thanks for the chance to win!
Aqua is my favorite color too! Thanks for the opportunity to win a fab prize.
I am so ready to fully embrace solids – this bundle and book would sure help!!! Thanks for the chance to win!
Embrace them with open arms. They are wonderful. So many possibilities!
Love them all! Camellia Pink is my current favorite and I adore working with the new solids.
I think there’s going to be a *lot* of Camellia in one of the upcoming quilts (currently just a sketch). M helped with it’s design… which probably explains the pink…
The solids along with your book would be a great way to leap into solid fabric quilting. Never done one yet, but this would be a great start. Thanks so much!
I love how you came to your favorite color by determining most used! I hope I can have Kona Snow NOT be my most used color some day, there are so many great options!
Great quilt, that books is on my must get list!
I’ve just recently developed a love of using solids, so I’d love to win this!
I am loving all the showcased ‘old’ and ‘new’ Kona colors. I wonderful book to get people excited about ‘solid color’.
Love your quilt. I will be adding this book to my library but hope I win it first 🙂
Beautiful quilt! And aren’t we all just blown away by the range of colors? So glad they added that super bright yellow – not something I’d use a lot of, but a very welcome addition.
Kona solids are in a great range of colors and do like that poppy red. Thanks for the giveaway as would enjoy making a solids quilt using the new colors and a design from the book. I also like your patterns.
Aqua is one of my favourite colours too! And I love your quilt. This looks like a “must have” book 🙂
would love to win! thanks for the giveaway 🙂
I love the pile of pebbles photo. Maybe a quilt with that palette and a splash of your favourite aqua?
That quilt is fab! And I’m an aqua girl, too, 110%!
Love your site, it’s always an inspiration. I’d LOVE a chance to win the book and the Kona fabrics. I love color, bright, intense and bold! Muted colors bore me and I tend to lose interest in that type of project. Give me color, preferably a red for the main color, and I’ll race you to the finish line!
looks like great stuff! thanks for sharing!
The we love color tour has been great everyone has such beautiful stuff!
This looks such a great book! It looks like we have the same favourite colour!
My favorite color is blue. Thanks for sharing your quilt. Love the colors.
Emily, your quilt is so pretty and I love how you use nature as your inspiration for colors. Nothing could be more perfect with Kona solids offered in a wide variety of colors.
The poppy got me! I’m a coral fan. And there isn’t a room in my house where it would shine. Too many colors to love.
So many beautiful hues and tones ; inspiring and daunting at the same time!
Nature is an amazing inspiration!
This book looks so fantastic. Plus that bundle of solids is so beautiful. Right now I’m loving greens. Thanks for all the inspiration.
So glad you decided to add on one more project, your design is the best! Love the picture of the crab in one of the earlier posts too.

Love the purples in your quilt. I can’t wait to see the new Kona colors in person!! Great giveaway, thanks.
I am hearing a lot about this book. It sounds wonderful.
I feel funny because I just went to the Kona site this past weekend and looked at all of the colors. I saw several that I liked and have used and several that I had not heard of. Now I think I know why I had not heard of them.
The photos you chose would inspire me too, great shots. I like your purple colored quilt. I just finnished a quilt with purple as the dominate color. I named it “Purple Slushie”. 🙂
My favorite color is purple. I think winning the entire stash of fabric would be so awesome! thanks.
Love your quilt & your inspiration photos are pretty amazing as well. Thanks for the chance to win this book.

These new colors are so fresh and fun! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
The poppies mingled with the cornflowers in the fields around us are a picture at the moment. Your pictures are indeed an inspiration too.
The new colors are really delicious. I love that storm picture. Was that from your phone or camera?
Just my phone. The real camera was in the trunk.

This book and the new Kona colors are a great pair!
The Poppy is beautiful. I love gray’s too. I hope I win! Love solids! Thanks for the giveaway!
Beautiful quilt! I’ve been keeping a secret – I collect purple fabric, ssshhh! Someday I’ll paint every room in my house purple, drive a purple car, and only sew purple fabrics.
Great pictures. I, too, love purple. In fact, one wall of my living room is painted a deep eggplant purple.

Aqua is great — it’s kind of funny to find “your colour”! I think mine is definitely white first, but then maybe School Bus or Tangerine…Dunno why! Thanks so much for your giveaway!
I love the aqua! It’s such a cool color. Thanks for the opportunity.
your quilt is fabulous! congrats and thank you!
i love the approach to picking your color- it makes a lot of sense! i love the poppy too though…
Love your inspirations! Isn’t it amazing the color combinations found in a frame of landscape? Nature never “clashes,” does it? Aqua is a very good choice – when forced to make one :)!
Can’t wait to see the book and the pattern for your lovely quilt! Thanks for the chance to win.
Gorgeous inspiration…fabulous quilt! Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this book!!
Aqua is not easy color in quilting. I am a bit afraid of using it (because it’s so light and every my mistake is even more visible on aqua).
I love your quilt. Purple and turquoise are my favorites. You pictures are also beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for hosting this giveaway.
Kathy

This book looks amazing!! I was just adding it to my cart on Amazon. It would be even better if I could win it!!! I know just the shop to buy all my Kona—in all the colors!! Please pick me!
I love the new colour, Poppy. We named our Australian Shepherd Poppy because she is a red Merle. But now I think it is because she pops up all over the place. Love the book and the use of solid colors.
Barb@Witsend
This book looks amazing! It’s already on my Amazon wish list, but how awesome would it be to win this with the Kona solids stack?
