Carolina Patchworks

We Love Color Blog Tour

Giveaway is closed!

Welcome!

We Love Color_400px

I was slightly overwhelmed with work when We Love Color was presented. New book due, 14 new patterns, market, still not settled after a move, etc. That kinda thing — could I really take on one more project?

Looking back on it though, I’m so honored to have been included. It’s a great group of quilters and a pretty awesome result.

For the most part, my color choices are inspired by nature, everyday life and the world around us. Whether it be the bright sunsets…

sunset

or a rainy weekend drive…

rain

or a beautiful flower amongst the weedy and mossy backyard…

lily

or spring…

fern

or just a morning walk in the park.

What is my favorite color?
Hardest. question. ever. I took a scientific approach to this. I compiled all the colors included in my next release (full of more fabulous Konas!) and added up the yardage. The most used, and therefore favorite, color is…

aqua

Aqua-1005. Not shocking if you know me. Exhibit A:

beach

My quilt.

It’s the purple one and also appears on the back cover of the book. The pattern includes instructions for multiple sizes.

It’s a very ‘me’ quilt.

New Colors!
I’ve been sewing with the new colors over the past week and I’m loving them. One new one is Poppy-1296.

poppy

Pretty accurate I’d say.

Is the contest open to employees of Carolina Patchworks and their immediate family?

    1. Sandie says:

Back away from the fabric, Sean!

    2. emily says:

Don’t worry, Sean was not entered into the drawing. We have half the Kaufman warehouse in our basement so it’s not like he’s in need of fabric (because he sews and all… ha!)

  2. Helena Cameron says:

I love the new colour, Poppy. We named our Australian Shepherd Poppy because she is a red Merle. But now I think it is because she pops up all over the place. Love the book and the use of solid colors.
