Pixel Play — set to be release in August 2012 — is a collection of patterns perfect for families and kids — from the family room, to the bedroom to the nursery — for boys and girls, both young and young at heart. We start with whimsy, fun and color and go from there. Like pirates and treasure maps? Pixel Play’s got ‘em. Into planes, trains, automobiles? Pixel Play has a place for them to go to town, so to speak. But I don’t want to spoil all of it — discovering is half the fun, right?

This book has been in the works since before Quilt Remix was released. Baby Liam would snuggle up while Maeve was at school and he’d watch in wonder as pictures came together before his eyes. Sewing started shortly after the move and Liam was quite distressed when his favorite of the projects went into a box.

The quilt above is The Favorite. So much so that when the boxes came back from photographing, he immediately knew what was in them. He searched through the piles of quilts to find “his” quilt. He then hauled it down the hallway to his room and put it on his bed. It’s still there. While I usually keep the work quilts separate from the home quilts, I couldn’t bring myself to take this one away from him. After all, he was the recipient of the original crib-sized design — his birthday quilt when he turned three (mentioned, but no picture).

I’ll share more closer to the release date (August 2012), but get your stack of Konas ready ’cause it’s gonna be fun.

It’s available for pre-order on Amazon if you’re really itching to get started.

This has been a long time coming. I need to separate the two. There’s just too much negative/stressful everything surrounding work these days (and the fact that I call it ‘work’ is an indication of a lot).

I know many people have been reading here since the beginning when the blog was a heckuvalot more about life than work but life will now be over here:

I’m really liking the tumblr format. Though I do wish I could box up an ‘e’ and mail it to them. You too flickr. Maybe I should change my name to mily cir. Spiffy, eh?

Our Gnomeo. Or maybe just gnomo?

And for work, trying to stay positive and upbeat, we’ll have some big news Thursday and new patterns next week (they are going to the printer in 3… 2… 1…).

And yes, everyone really does think my name is Caroline.

My lack-of-arthritis self is really enjoying this project. I haven’t stitched like this since I was, um, a lot younger than I am now.

Here’s March. Same as the past couple months with colors, setting, etc.

I’ll probably start to put the blocks together this summer — I haven’t done measurements yet, just an idea of what the end product will look like.

Still plenty of time to stitch and post your block here. Pattern is available here.

Bazillions of projects coming to an end right now. Lots of secrets, quilts, etc, etc coming next week!

We start off with the Seattle MQG sew-in. Always a nice time, though not the place to go if you want to actually sew ;) We tend to talk. A lot.

Due to my incredible dislike of hauling my machine anywhere, I chose the March Aurifil DBOM to work on. Didn’t get it finished, but definite progress!

You still have plenty of time to stitch and fickeritize your photo for a chance at winning thread!

Then, even more fun today!

I got a chance to visit Robert Kaufman at the Seattle Textile Expo. It was impossible to pass up the chance to pick fabrics for an upcoming mega-sized project that weren’t just swatches on my screen!

(did I really not take a booth pic with the real camera? yup. sigh.)

I also got to see this quilt from Angela. A fabulous piece of art (as always).

I’m also super excited about this!

I also got to pet the linen, laguna knit and organics.

A very nice day, with some good old-fashioned family time on either end of the day.

Now to plan out some fabulous quilts with yummy fabrics…

I really need another Leap Day. Perhaps we can have 30 days? Next time, ok?

So I actually finished this weeks ago. It then went into the to-do pile for pictures and posting. Where it sat. For the next 3 weeks.

Pat’s email this morning with March info reminded me that it’s no longer February and perhaps I should really take a picture. So, here is my block — sans setting fabrics and with color changes to match what I will be setting it in.

March is super cute! I’ll probably be stitching mine at the Seattle MQG get together next weekend.
