The Making of a Wall Quilt
Wall quilts are usually a quilt with a sleeve hanging on a wall. Not here!
And now I present: Modern Rose Garden: Wall Version.
(sealing the edges)
(color is cool. life is too short to live with beige walls.)
(80 bazillion coats later…)
Ta da!
It’s amazing what you can get done when the kids go to school. I hope to have the whole room done in a couple weeks (have to make curtains, quilt, sheets, pillows, etc).

That is killer!! I love it! and I too love colour – it makes me feel great!!! The room is going to be amazing!
WOW! This is a great idea… can you come paint my house, too? 🙂
Um, I’m gonna have to go with no. 😉 My poor ol’ arthritic self had a hard enough time getting that one wall painted (I hear violins…).
Looks amazing! I really love all the colors and the pattern you chose.
Oh my gosh! I want to do that in my teenage son’s room, so bad now. That is just too cool!
That looks interesting – shelving into things to do list.
Oh my gosh, I really, really love it. Really.
Looks awesome. Enjoy the process of finishing the room!
It looks amazing!!!
OMG !!! You have to be brave to start that.
Looks amazing
That looks really cool. You could even use some of the boxes as frames, and hang stuff in them!
Love it! I know, super original comment 😉
Very cool, Emily! It looks so much like a Mondrian. I hope to see the finished room pics also! 😀
Can’t wait to see the finished room! What room is this? A guest room? Liam’s big boy room?
What did you use to seal the tape so paint did not go under?
The background/sashing color.
This is amazing! Did you have any trouble with the paint peeling along the sealed edges? You know, not from sticking to the tape glue underneath, but from the seal of the paint over the top edge.
Luckily I didn’t. I used the super delicate tape — not just the blue tape, but the delicate surfaces version. I also took it off as soon as I was sure it had covered.
